PIONEERING A NEW SUPPLY CHAIN

TREELINE is the first consumer product to be made out of salvaged trees from NYC’s urban forest. Over 12,500 trees are removed in NYC every year. In the past, these trees were chipped. We are working with the NYC Parks Department and other urban forestry partners to divert this wood from the waste stream and utilize it in TREELINE. We offer three iconic wood finishes – black, natural, and white – to celebrate the unique and rich texture of this storied material.

SALVAGED PIN-OAK

Pin-oak is the second most populous tree in the NYC urban forest (73,855 Pin-oaks are mapped on public property in NYC).

Decorative wood selections

The idea for Stickbulb came from “scraps” of wood piling up in our workshop. The essence of our collection is forever tied to the responsible use and re-use of materials. Today we source wood from decommisioned NYC water towers, demolished factories, and responsibly managed forests.

Collection of five wood finishes: Maple, Walnut, Salvaged Heart Pine, Ebonized Oak, and Reclaimed Water Tower Redwood

01

MAPLE

Sourced locally from sustainably managed forests primarily in New York and Pennsylvania, Maple is characterized by a minimal and consistent grain, and creamy-white color. Occasional knots or dark swirls are present.

02

heart pine (reclaimed)

Carefully selected from demolished buildings in and around New York, the Stickbulb Longleaf Pine is remarkable for red to golden brown tones and clearly defined, dense, old growth grain. Occasional nail holes and areas of discoloration speak to its rich history.

03

water tower redwood (reclaimed)

Majestic Sequoia sempervirens, or Redwood, originating from the legendary forests of the West Coast, is a stunning, old-growth wood. Reclaimed from NYC water towers, years of exposure to the elements on one side and contact with water on the other result in a rich, red color threaded with occasional black veins.

04

Walnut

Sourced locally from sustainably managed forests primarily in New York and Pennsylvania, Walnut is a timeless wood with a rich, classic brown color and occasional burled grain.

05

ebonized oak

Sustainably sourced American Red Oak typically has a straight and open grain which permits easy staining. Hand-finished to produce a lustrous dark, the blackened finish allows the pronounced texture and grain of the wood to shine through.
